Placing a dollar sign before the column and the row in a formula tells Excel that you don’t want it to adjust the cell reference when you copy the formula. This is called an absolute cell reference.
Nope.copying it wotn work.each cell in the row has a unique formula but there is one cell refernce that needs to stay the same as i drag formulas down Im going from C4 thru IV4.highlight that entire rown and going to drag it down to around C150 and in each cell in c4 thru iv4 and each cell has one unique cell reference in the big formaul i have in the cells. I need this one cell ref in each cell to have the dollar sign inserted so when i drag down it will remain the same and i need to do this in 3 times on 4 worksheets its going to take forever now!lololo. Sure: =SUMPRODUCT(-(DATA!$B$3:INDEX(DATA!$B:$B,DATA!$O$1)=$B453),-(DATA!$D$3:INDEX(DATA!$D:$D,DATA!$O$1)=BO363+0),-(DATA!$G$3:INDEX(DATA!$G:$G,DATA!$O$1)='D'),DATA!$K$3:INDEX(DATA!$K:$K,DATA!$O$1)) see the BO363? Thats the cell ref for this particular cell that i need the dollar signs in fron of.and the cell next to it will be BP363, the BQ363 etc.etc. I started at B363, an I need to go all the way to IV363 Once i have the dollar signs all the way across where i need them, I then drag everything down to B150 Then I will have to repeat this process 2 more times on this work sheet in two other sections fo the sheet THEN, once that sheet is complete I need to do ALL listed above to 2 other worksheets in the workbook.
